The ABBACUS family of metal enclosed capacitor banks (MECB) are a packaged factory assembled and tested reactive compensation system with modular fixed or switched capacitor steps, which automatically compensate an individual load or of the network to maintain a preset level of power factor (cos phi). The ABBACUS family comprises of a series of metal enclosed capacitor banks that cater to a wide range of applications and requirement for reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering in medium voltage networks. The ABBACUS family is a 'one stop shop' solution with an integrated package of Hitachi Energy's premium range of primary and secondary equipment. The solution combines primary components, and secondary control and protection, within a compact modular enclosure.
