Resin impregnated paper (RIP)

Resin impregnated paper (RIP) is a term used for bushings in which the main insulation consists of a core wound from crepe paper, which is then impregnated with a curable resin. The outer insulation is made from silicone rubber. ABB RIP bushings are characterized by their outstanding technical performance: the small and lightweight design facilitates easy transportation, storage and installation, while the oil-free construction requires no maintenance, is leakage-free and thus exceptionally safe and environmentally friendly.

Hitachi ABB Power Grids offers a wide range of RIP bushings for AC and DC transformers and reactors, AC and DC wall applications and AC switchgear. Our bushings are developed and approved for mineral oil applications.
