“Transmission and distribution of power is truly a global challenge and working in this field allows for inspiring engagements with colleagues and customers from around the world. Substations and Power Quality solutions play an important role in the power system, with their reliability and availability being crucial for our customers today.
My role as product manager in the Service Solution team for Grid Integration, allows me to work with new innovative solutions to support our customers with their challenges and to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation of their assets. I find it moving that we, as Power Grids, have such an extensive knowledge in our employees and I am excited how we can leverage our service products with this global knowledge on a local basis—much closer to our customers.
Through our solutions and services, we are able to help customers extend the lifecycle of their installations, and optimize their operation and maintenance (O&M) spend through best-in-class digital tools, tailored solutions, and partnership agreements. In doing so, we enable the efficient use of energy and resources, positively impacting the environmental footprint.
I have seen many colleagues walking the extra mile (like skipping vacation, birthdays, Christmas) to support in critical failures that could have caused our customer big problems without their help. Ever since I joined the service team 5 years ago, I have felt the fighting spirit and the deep drive of supporting our customers and keeping their business up and running. I love being in an environment where we fight for common goals and find solutions to “unsolvable problems,” cross-cultures and borders.
Now, as Hitachi ABB Power Grids, I am curious to see how we can further stimulate creativity and drive innovation by leveraging on Hitachi’s culture, technical expertise and digital platforms and combining it with ABB’s own capabilities.”
