Ajay Singh is Chief Financial Officer, Hitachi Energy India Limited, and Region Finance Director for Power Grids BUsiness in South Asia. Hitachi Energy is a global leader in power technologies and aspires to be the partner of choice for enabling a stronger, smarter and greener grid.

Ajay’s experience spans 27 years in which he has held various leadership roles in ABB. Prior to his current role, he was the Division CFO for Power Grids BUsiness in India. He also has been the Global Hitachi Energy Controller, Common Apparatus & Devices for Power Product High Voltage. There, he guided financial decisions for various critical units of power products, living up to ABB’s core values of integrity and trust.

In his 13-year-long stint at ABB, he has implemented a Robust Risk Review process for Power Products High Voltage in India; headed a project on SAP utilization, involving various modules to control inventory and improve white collar productivity; finance transformation projects including lean management initiatives, achieving efficiency gain of 26 percent; and also set up the Finance Controlling and Planning Center of Expertise for the Hitachi Energy business.

Ajay began his career in 1992 with High Tech Electronics in Kolkata. He later worked with Hindustan Motors’ auto division and JP Associates’ cement division in key positions. He brings vast experience in finance, accounting, internal controls, risk management and decision, budgeting and costing.

Ajay is an associate member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India and has a post-graduate honors diploma in Systems Management. He has completed finance and management courses from International Institute of Management Development in Switzerland.

Besides traveling and swimming, Ajay likes to read and listen to music.
