A new revision of the RES670 version 2.0 has been released
The new revision designation of the RES670 is 220.127.116.11. The following issues have been corrected / improvements made in the new revision:
System and communication related
- Test mode via tools like ITT600/IEC 61850 clients
The 670 series IED has two test modes, IED test mode and IEC 61850 test mode. Forcing of in- and outputs is only possible when the IED is in IED Test mode. The IED test mode blocks all functions in the IED, preventing inadvertent operation when forcing inputs. When the IEC 61850 test mode was enabled by an IEC 61850 client, it was possible to force the in- and outputs as well. This has been corrected so that forcing is only possible in IED test mode.
- Simulated data over IEC 61850-9-2LE
The IED rejected IEC 61850-9-2LE simulated data even when the IED.LPHD.Sim was set TRUE. This error has now been corrected and simulated data will now be handled.
- Incorrect sample correlation when using IEC 61850-9-2LE and TRM inputs
When the IED was configured to use analog data in mixed mode, IEC 61850-9-2LE samples and local TRM inputs at the same time, there was a condition of incorrect sample correlation. This happened only when the IED was time synchronized from the merging unit and the merging unit was rebooted when the IED was operational. The incorrect sample correlation could lead to shorter disturbance records and potentially incorrect protection operation. This has now been corrected.
- Time synchronization when using IEC 61850-9-2LE and LDCM modules
When the IED has LDCM modules and was time synchronized from the merging unit and the merging unit was rebooted, in certain situations the IED fails to get synchronized. This has now been corrected.
- Redundancy supervision indication correctly reported over IEC 61850
The PRP redundancy supervision status indication at SYS.LPHD1.PhyHealth was erroneously reported as Alarm. This has now been corrected to indicate Warning.
- Time stamp of events retrieved using IEC 60870-5-103
When retrieving the events using IEC 60870-5-103 from certain Masters, the time stamps of the events were incorrect. Certain Masters which do not ignore the reserved bit showed this incorrect time stamp. This has now been corrected.
- Reporting of integers via DNP3
Integer values were suppressed in DNP3 reporting. This has now been corrected and integers will be reported.
- Phase angle reporting with inputs of zero amplitude
Due to improper zero-point clamping, the phase angles were continuously displaying random values on the LHMI. This has now been handled correctly.
- Disturbance recorder DRPRDRE
It will now be possible to clear the disturbance records when the disturbance recorder function DRPRDRE has its Operation = OFF.
- TCP port range for FTP
To minimize the number of open ports in a firewall, the port range for the FTP server has been changed to the following range:
Earlier port range 1024 - 5000
New port range 49220 – 49252
- Incorrect IP address in Syslog messages
The Syslog messages contained an incorrect IP address, which referred to the first available active port. The messages now contain the correct IP address from where they are transmitted.
- Fuse fail function FUFSPVC
The delta voltage, delta current (DU, DI) check has now been modified to check all three phase currents instead of one phase current. The fuse failure is detected when DU is higher than the set limit and DI in all three phases are lower than the set limit.
- Elapsed Time Integrator TEIGAPC
The accumulation of the integrated time stored in the semi-retain memory stopped after approximately 40 minutes. This has been corrected and can now store up to the max value supported by the function.
- Timer TIMERSET behavior in certain situations
When the TIMERSET input value was TRUE and the function Operation was set to OFF and then ON, the output was set without the time delay. This has now been corrected.
- Circuit breaker condition monitoring SSCBR
In 60Hz applications the estimation of the contact wear was less accurate as it is in 50Hz applications. This was due to a software error which has now been corrected.
Recommendation to update
We recommend users of RES670 version 2.0 who have experienced any of the issues listed herein to update to this new firmware revision.
IED Connect support
Updating to the new firmware does not require any changes in the installed IED Connectivity Packages for Relion® 670 series. The connectivity packages are available in the PCM600 Update manager.
