Hitachi Energy Hefei Transformer Co., Ltd.

Hitachi Energy Hefei Transformer Company Limited was the first Power Transformer Joint Venture set up by Hitachi Energy in China in 1992. The company became wholly owned by Hitachi Energy in 2005. In order to achieve greater operational efficiency and synergies, the Country Management merged Hitachi Energy Hefei Transformer Co., Ltd. and Hitachi Energy Distribution Transformer (Hefei) into one legal entity in 2006. In order to have strong focus on the different businesses, the company is organized into two product divisions: Distribution Transformer Division, Products Group Insulation & Components.

The Distribution Transformer Division acquires the most advanced auto-production and test equipment for liquid-filled transformers, which adopts the latest design and manufacture technology in the world. The product includes pole-mounted transformers, power transformers, amorphous metal transformer, pad-mount transformers and kinds of special application transformers for industrial use, such as wind power generation, photovoltaic power generation, environmental protection transformers, etc. Currently, annual production capacity is 12,000 distribution transformers.

The Product Group Insulation & Components (Hefei PGIC) is the manufacturing and supplying center set up by Hitachi Energy for OLTC (On-load tap changer), RIP (Dry Bushing), OIP (Oil Bushing) and OTP (Oil Treatment Plant) to the markets in China, Asia and Pacific area. It has been broadly accepted by Chinese and NAS customers and has become one of the major suppliers of high quality transformer components in the region. Main components business covers: 220kV and below on load tap changer, 110kV and below dry bushing, 500kV and below oil bushing, measuring & safety devices and vacuum filtering equipment (suitable for oil filtering 1000KV and below power transformers). With production capacity increase, Hitachi Energy Hefei Product Group Insulation & Components attracts more investment from Hitachi Energy. Thus Hefei Product Group Insulation & Components moved to a new factory at the end of year 2009 which occupies the area of more than 30,000m². Today, Hefei PGIC has become Hitachi Energy's the largest scope of supply global production center for transformer components.
