As a Graduate Trainee in Sweden, you will work across three different assignments before starting your permanent full-time employment. Explore different roles in different business units and find the right path for you. The Graduate Trainee Program runs at a fast pace and will help you learn to adapt to new challenges and environments.
The Graduate Trainee Program consists of three x 10-week local assignments and an additional international assignment as part of your full-time permanent employment. As a Graduate Trainee, you decide which business segment you want to work in and during your assignments, you will need to develop a strong business network with the goal of finding your future workplace.
One day of each week is dedicated to personal development including courses, study visits to our sites, and working directly with our customers. You are encouraged to engage directly with our inspiring leaders to learn more about them and their journeys within the company. Throughout the program you will receive coaching and support from both the Graduate Trainee Manager and your Assignment Managers.
Upon the successful completion of the Trainee Program, you will be eligible for permanent full-time employment at one of our businesses in Ludvika or Västerås.
During your first week of the Graduate Trainee Program you will get to know your fellow trainees, our company, and your new hometown. From the very start you will have the opportunity to meet key position holders and develop a network with other trainees. We want to inspire and motivate you as you start your journey with Power Grids.
You are responsible for finding and applying for assignments that you are passionate about and we highly recommend that you apply to several different areas of operation and roles. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go out of your comfort zone and explore areas that you may have not thought of before.
Passion, energy and continuous learning are success factors while you start your career. That is why we have dedicated a full day of learning each week. Study visits play an important role and you will have the chance to learn about our product portfolio and see our production sites. To get the full picture, you will also visit our customers and see our products in operation. We also offer various courses to promote your personal development and complement your skill set.
You will receive coaching and support during the program from both the Trainee Manager and your assignment managers. Feedback is a crucial part of your personal development, which is why you will receive individual feedback after each assignment. You are actively encouraged to seek advice and support from our people, and the various courses and seminars offered prompt you to evaluate and develop your own professional characteristic.
From the very start, you and your fellow Trainees will form a Trainee Association. You will each have an area of responsibility, and together you will have the chance to make an impact on the Trainee Program. Together you will decide on the specifics of customer and study visits, as well as invite guests for lecture evenings. These activities help your team to collaborate, get to know each other, and create lifelong friendships.
After seven months, you will have finished your three assignments. You will begin your full-time employment at one of our business units in Ludvika or Västerås. The location of your employment will be determined based on your preferences and where opportunities open within the company.
You will complete a three-month international assignment once you have been placed in your permanent business unit. Together with your new manager, you will decide which international location and work assignment is the most suitable for you and creates business value for your department.
As a Graduate Trainee, you are hired on a permanent, full-time contract, and will receive a market-based salary from the first day of employment. You will get assistance in finding an apartment to rent as well as reimbursement for the moving expenses if you need to relocate.
