Hitachi Energy’s is developing energy-efficient silicon carbide semiconductors for the e-mobility and industrial sectors as our commitment to continuous technological innovation to shape the future of a smarter and greener society. Join our presentations and live discussions on SiC and e-mobility at the PCIM digital days 2021.

Over 100-years ago our journey into power electronics started in Switzerland with the production of mercury-arc rectifiers. Today, we offer one of the most diverse semiconductor offerings including thyristors, diodes, GTOs, IGCTs and IGBTs, manufactured at our Lenzburg, Switzerland and Prague, Czech Republic facilities. With our research laboratory developing the next generation high-power semiconductors, we are set to continue pushing the boundaries of power electronic innovation.

Live webinar

In this live webinar we will showcase Hitachi Energy’s latest development in power semiconductors:

  • LoPak 1200 V – Introduction of the newest member of the family –  1200 V 900 A x 2 configuration in a refined LoPak1 module. Developed for various applications due to its compact and optimized high-performance design.
  • SiC LinPak – Extension of the well-established LinPak family with devices based on SiC providing a massive reduction of switching losses, an increase in current density and higher maximum junction temperature.
  • RoadPak – Forerunner e-mobility technology, pushing the boundaries of power density and reducing stray inductance to new levels.
  • IGCT Generation 3 – A device with improved thermal performance and increased reliability for renewable energy sources.
  • BPM 60Pak – BiPolar power module with the highest performance, outstanding reliability and increased overload capability for industrial applications.

Don’t miss the opportunity to talk to our experts and discuss all latest innovations.

From Low to High Power - RoadPak - a Scalable SiC Power Module Platform for E-mobility

With the continuing evolution in xEV, it is more and more important to be able to serve various power ratings with the same platform. For example using a higher power version of the same power semiconductor on the rear axle and a lower power version on the front axle of the same car or to have the same platform and therefore a similar converter design for medium-size cars and as well larger size cars. RoadPak offers this scalability in terms of various current ratings but also on 2 different voltage classes for the 2 main battery voltage levels used in xEV.
